Emotional Freedom Technique, better known as EFT, is commonly referred to as “tapping”. This evidence-based modality is self-applied, powerfully effective and incredibly easy to learn. While EFT is newly set to revolutionize the field of health and wellness, the healing concepts that the techniques are based on have been practiced in Eastern medicine for over 5,000 years. Like acupuncture and acupressure, EFT is a set of techniques which utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power – which helps release and heal mental blocks.

If you are like most of us, at some point you have struggled with stress, anxiety, feelings of being overwhelmed, inadequacy, sadness, anger, illness, physical pain, difficulty letting go of the past, dependencies, addictions, etc. And, like most of us, you are probably sick of expensive, ineffective treatments, and fed up with relinquishing the power over your health and happiness to psychologists and doctors. Your body is more powerful than you can imagine. You are filled with life, energy and a compelling ability for self-healing. With tapping, you can take control of that power, and feed your emotional health with positivity and worth.

EFT in the classroom

EFT for kids and teenagers is very empowering. It gives them the tools to dispel their fears and anxieties, and to build positive beliefs and success. EFT works even faster on kids because they don’t have a backlog of beliefs built up over years like adults do! Guess where most of our unhelpful beliefs come from? Our childhood of course! By providing youngsters with these powerful tools, we are effectively setting them up for happier, healthier lives, where they are in control of their emotions.

Expected outcomes for children when using EFT are:

  • Improved marks/grades
  • Improved reading and writing confidence
  • Better behaviour in and out of the classroom
  • Improved emotional intelligence
  • Higher self-esteem
  • Peer pressure management tools and/or bullying management tools
  • Lowered anger and stress levels to a feeling of calm
  • Eliminated bed wetting, nail biting, nightmares and phobias
  • Improvement in general health (less days off)
  • Increased self-control
  • Increased optimism
  • Decreased likelihood in developing eating disorders and depression
  • Encouraged personal responsibility
  • Eliminated anxiety/nerves, leading to increase in performance (including sports)
