Have yourself a merry office culture! 

Aaaah work culture. Quite the hot topic these days isn’t it?  

It’s no wonder. Our work-lives are… BUSY! So busy, that we often forget to take time to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done, take five minutes to catch up with a colleague or just wish someone an awesome day.  

Seems like so many of us are on auto-pilot doesn’t it? Consumed by deadlines, meetings and overtime, oh my! 

So maybe you can’t cut things from your teams to do list this season (it’s end of year for most of us after all), but you can show them some love by helping them prioritize a little wellness time during their work day.  

 Here are our top 3 tips to help get you started: 

  1. Encourage your team to get out of the office at LEAST once a day. Grab those Venti Peppermint Mochas and find a couch for a mental break with a colleague. Talk about your family, your friends, the weather. A 30-minute time-out from your pressing deadline might just leave your mind refreshed and ready to tackle that last-minute policy brief. 
  2. Walk the talk, show your team that even you – the big boss – leaves his or her desk from time to time. Walk around the office, the block, better yet, tell them you are going to the gym, so they feel they have permission to do the same. Get that blood moving, those happy hormones flowing! You might just be looking at the sunny end of a smile from a happy employee. 
  3. If you’re REALLY feeling the spirit of things, bring in a mobile registered massage therapist for some weekly chair massages or host weekly lunch hour yoga sessions (we might know a few providers 😉). Taking some time to help you relieve those stress related aches and pains tells your team that:

A. You know they are humans and not just number crunching, copy writing, data sourcing machines; and

B. You believe taking time for health and wellness is the greatest gift you can give each other.
